A SPECIAL EDITION OSTRO VAM FOR A SPECIAL RIDER

André Greipel rode his very last professional race at the Münsterland Giro last weekend in Germany. He rounded out his 19th consecutive season with an applaudable 10th place, welcomed by thousands of supportive fans congregating to celebrate the career of a true cycling great.

To congratulate André on the close of an incredible career, FACTOR surprised him with a one-off OSTRO VAM and T-shirts, designed to highlight his extensive palmarès and showcase the iconic Gorilla; a symbol that became a pivotal part of his decorated career.

The top tube features every jersey he’s secured throughout his career, and the underside of the downtube lists his greatest results by year. The Gorilla then features prominently on the head tube and the seat tube.

The artwork displayed on the bikes and the T-shirts is by the talented and well renowned, Karl Kopinski. Karl has been successfully working in the art and illustration world for over 20 years, and as an avid cyclist himself, he created something special to celebrate the retirement of a legend.

“I didn’t know anything about it, so I was really surprised to get a gift like this. I feel quite humbled and honoured to be honest, and the same with the T-shirt. It’s a really nice memory to have. I don’t like being in the spotlight, but Sunday was a really nice day. Though I still have pain in the legs from the hard racing!” – André Greipel.

Although we’ve now officially fare welled André Greipel from the peloton, we are immensely proud to continue working with him as he joins Factor and Black Inc as a global ambassador.

“Over two decades I’ve watched André energize the peloton and bring excitement to many a ‘finale’ with his explosive sprint and cunning manoeuvres. The sport and its spectators have benefited from André’s talent, and we’re all thankful for his incredible accomplishments and contributions as a person and a professional. All of us at Factor want to congratulate André for his incredible career, and his litany of victories. And we’re especially thankful that he will continue his cycling journey with us!” – Rob Gitelis, CEO Factor | Black Inc.
