Factor’s Brand Director, David Millar, is a long time friend of Paul’s, and on a visit to his museum-like office at his HQ in London he got talking bikes with Paul. Factor was brought up because what was missing from Paul’s collection was a modern, cutting edge, racing bike. David called Rob Gitelis there and then, and, introduced him to Paul, and with no prior intention, the collaboration was born.

Designing and tailoring a suit is not too dissimilar from engineering, laying-up and moulding a high quality racing bike. The similarities were not lost on Smith.

Knitting together this special graphic, Paul Smith drew inspiration from the various bicycles in his life that have been most important to his journey. Using the OSTRO VAM as his canvas juxtaposes his love of traditional, classic bikes with a passion for the latest innovation.
